Springgrove Estate is situated in Mpumalanga, near Chrissiesmeer.
Springgrove Estate offers beautiful accommodation
and a charming venue facility with a warm, country style charm.
Springgrove Estate is situated in the heart of Mpumalanga’s New Scotland District, named after hardy Scottish settlers who were granted a concession over an area from Chrissiesmeer to the Swaziland border in the 1870’s by President Pretorius of the Transvaal Republic. The farm has been in the same family for generations.
The estate comprises a private timber farm 35 kilometers from Chrissiesmeer and approximately 2½ hours by car from Gauteng in a malaria free environment. For the guest who wishes to fly in, we have a well maintained grass runway 1,200 metres long. We can also offer fly-in packages for those who wish to spend as much time as possible in this piece of unspoilt nature.
The farm is close to the Swaziland border for those who wish to visit the Kingdom for a day’s outing (be sure to pack your passport should you wish to do so). Springgrove Estate lies at an elevation of almost 2000 metres and the climate is generally sunny but cool (especially night time).
Accommodation & Venue
The plantations supply the perfect backdrop for 3 guest cottages overlooking a dam stocked with bass. These self-catering guest cottages sleep a maximum of 6 persons sharing.
There are six “rondavel” cottages below the Manor House located 2 kilometres from Springgrove Cottages. They overlook a dam with incredible birdlife. The Anguni Cottages echo the farm style and are self-catering.
